Lincoln attractions Overlooking the Saline River at the junction of highways 14 and 18, is the town of Lincoln. Many farmsteads and fences built of native limestone are found among the rolling hills surrounding Lincoln, the Post Rock Capital of Kansas.

The jewel of the county is the century-old courthouse built in the Richardsonian-Romanesque style situated on a city block featuring memorials to veterans and early settlers killed during an 1869 Indian raid.

Settlement history also connects the Lincoln community to Abraham Lincoln, whose childhood neighbor pioneered here and helped name the county and town for the President. An annual Reenactment celebrates this connection on President's Day Weekend.

Lincoln is a thriving town boasting of good restaurants, Lincoln attractions unique shopping, outstanding museums, a beautiful theatre, and an active art center featuring artists from a wide region. The new Smoky Hill Wind Farm is found along I-70, 14 miles south of Lincoln and north along Highway 14. Bed and Breakfasts,Hunting Lodges, and a motel are available for weekend get-a-ways and day tripping.
